The first issue of CWHK (then called "The Asian Computerworld") landed on IT decision-makers' desks on February 27, 1984. Its pages display a different tech-universe: vendors like Sperry, Burroughs and Wang showcase ads for floppy-disk-driven machines with "kilobytes" of internal memory.

Technology has evolved radically in the last 25 years, but Computerworld Hong Kong is still going strong. To celebrate our anniversary, we'll publish a special issue looking back at previous years in technology and CWHK's role in it. We'll trace our origins, look at Hong Kong's milestones, and hear quotes and anecdotes from past editors and team members.

We'll also profile the last 25 years of tech at leading HK firms like HSBC, the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Cathay Pacific Airways, the MTRC, the Hong Kong Government, PCCW/HK Telecom, and more.

In celebration of our 25 years of covering IT in Hong Kong, Computerworld Hong Kong invites all readers and industry professionals to join us in the below special activities:

Readers can join a survey to find out in the opinion of IT professionals in HK, what product, technology, IT development or event has had the greatest impact on business over the last 25 years.

To celebrate the technology glories of the past we will hold a "Most Evocative Photo" contest. So start looking through those dusty filing cabinets for the picture of you (or your boss) in the mainframe room - hopefully with some out-of-date fashion and a seriously amusing hairstyle.

We’re looking for entertaining and amusing images that capture the spirit of technologies in the past, such as:
- Products that were prominent in years past – the typewriter, the 5 inch floppy
- People and technology
- Classic fashion sense/haircuts/ displayed by IT professionals in the past
- Images of IT professionals at work
- Technology and HK

To submit your images(s), please send us an email together with your name, job title & contact number(s).

Besides, first 20 participants will each receive a HK$100 Park N’Shop cash coupon.

Note:
Image file(s) should be less than 2MB in size.
By submitting your image(s), you signify your acceptance of the terms of the Questex Media Group Privacy Policy and all rules and conditions.
